Sajad was born and raised in Budgam district, Kashmir, where he still lives and works as a Community Correspondent for Video Volunteers. He has been interested in photography since his childhood: "I want to cover all the stories that I don't see, but think should be, covered in the media." In the future, Sajad hopes to work for an international photography agency.
The Project:
Sajad's work looks at the degradation of the Dal Lake in Kashmir, which he says, "has turned into a polluted pond because of rampant, uncontrolled encroachment and pollution." He continues, "I want to highlight the degradation so that more steps are taken towards conservation of the lake."
